SUMMARY:Workshop: Optical Genome Mapping: Validation, Analysis, and Technical Considerations
LOCATION:St. Louis Union Station Hotel, 1820 Market St., St. Louis, MO, 63103
DESCRIPTION:Workshop: Optical Genome Mapping: Validation, Analysis, and Technical Considerations\n\n06/28/26 01:00 PM CST\n - 06/28/26 04:30 PM CST\Description:\nThis practical educational session delivers a three (3) hour comprehensive, clinic-focused program on implementing Optical Genome Mapping (OGM) across validation, analysis, and laboratory workflow. Attendees will learn how to establish and document assay performance—covering sample requirements, limits of detection, sensitivity, specificity, reproducibility, and key validation metrics—illustrated with case-based, real-world examples. The program presents a structured, stepwise approach to OGM data analysis using current software tools, including quality-control review, cutoff thresholds, use of analysis-specific BED files, differentiation of pathogenic and benign structural variants, variant curation and classification, report generation, and application of ISCN nomenclature for OGM. Practical technical guidance addresses the full laboratory workflow from ultra-high–molecular-weight DNA extraction through chip loading, with troubleshooting strategies to optimize data quality and assay performance. \nDesigned for laboratory professionals, this session equips participants with actionable strategies to strengthen validation, analysis, and implementation of OGM in clinical practice.\n\nAvailable for in-person registrants only.\n\nPresenters: \n\n\n	Rashmi Kanagal Shamanna, MD, MD Anderson Cancer Center\n	Brandon Shaw, PhD, Henry Ford Medical Center\n	Gordana Raca, MD, PhD, F(ACMG), Cincinnati Children's Hospital\n\n\Details:\nAdd this event on to your Joint Annual Meeting registration.\n\nDiscounts available to  AGT, ASCLS, and SAFMLS members. \n\n	Members of AGT, ASCLS, or SAFMLS : $100\n	Non-members: $150\n\n\n\nEvent registration is available through the JAM registration site and will open in mid-March.\Location:\nSt. Louis Union Station Hotel\n1820 Market St.\nSt. Louis, MO 63103
